Get out and enjoy FoCoMX!

After being holed up for the first half of the week due to the wonderful Colorado weather, FoCoMX gives you the perfect opportunity to get out of the house and stretch your legs this Friday and Saturday.

On April 19th and 20th FoCoMA (Fort Collins Musicians Association) will be holding its annual event, FoCoMX (Fort Collins Music Experiment), an event that celebrates Northern Colorado musicians and their music.  FoCoMA, a non-profit organization, provides Northern Colorado musicians with educational, supportive and networking opportunities.  This organization is put together to help inspire and support the creative minds of local artists and at the same time generate awareness of the great work that are being created.

This two day event takes place at 24 different venues all over Fort Collins and includes a lineup of over 240 bands and/or musicians for your listening pleasure.  For $30 you’ll be able to enjoy some of Northern Colorado’s well known bands like Mama Lenny and The Remedy, Fierce Bad Rabbit and The Patti Fiasco.  But this is a great opportunity to check out some of its best kept secrets like Daniel Ondaro, Samuel Mouton and The Holler! Be sure to check the full list on the event program to see the wide variety artists and genres performing over the weekend.

Popular performing places like Aggie Theatre, Avogadro’s Number and Hodi’s Half Note will of course be participating but that’s just the beginning.  Places like Choice City Butcher, East Coast, Mo Jeaux’s and many more will be joining in the fun too!  Concerned about how you’re going to get around to all these places?  There’s no need to worry, a FREE bus/van service will be running just for FoCoMX participants that will pick up and drop off at the four main locations of the event around town.  And while a majority of the venues are for all ages some require that patrons are 21+, so check the venue list prior to heading out on the town.

You can pick up your FoCoMX wristband at Rock ‘N’ Robins today or at the Will Call & Ticket booth located in front of the Art Lab on Linden Street which will be open from 12pm to 11pm on the days of the event.  You may also pick one up at Odell Brewing Company or Fort Collins Brewery during their business hours and Road 34 the night of.  We’d recommend getting them in advance to save yourself the hassle and so you don’t miss out!
