The Thursday Night Live concert series in downtown Fort Collins jams on with The Patti Fiasco July 23. Rock and blues with a Wyoming twang, this band exemplifies the diverse music that defines the northern Colorado band scene.

A variety of instruments gives The Patti Fiasco their unique and powerful sound. Lead guitarist Dee Tyler, bass player Niles Mischke, percussionist Peter Knudson, and Ansel Foxley with his handmade dobro all combine for the perfect accompaniment to front woman Alysia Kraft’s astounding vocals.

Although they were only formed in 2008, The Patti Fiasco’s popularity has boomed since its creation with fans and radio plays across the nation. Their achievements include Wyoming Public Radio’s Best Regional Album award and FoCoMA’s Best Album award for their Small Town Lights album released in 2013. They have played onstage with well-known performers such as Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Justin Townes Earle, Great American Taxi and Grammy-nominated Feufollet.

The Patti Fiasco has also graced the stage of several prominent music festivals in recent years. It’s no wonder they have garnered more than 3,600 Facebook fans after appearing at Lafayette Louisiana Downtown Alive, SXSW twice, The WYOmericana Caravan tour and more.

Best Patios in Fort Collins

There’s no denying it, some days an adult beverage on a patio does the body good!

Beating the summer heat can be a tough task, but when you’re properly set up on a nice patio with your beverage of choice, even the heat can’t keep you down. A cold beer pairs well with the hot afternoons and warm evenings, so if you’re struggling to overcome the dog days of summer, pick up your favorite and grab a seat on a patio.

Now, with that being said, we must narrow it down because let’s be honest, there are tons of great patios to choose from in Fort Collins. Finding the perfect one, well that is up to you, but we are here to at least help get you started in the right direction. Use our suggestions to pick out your favorites.

Road 34 – Here you’ll find a wide selection of beers on draft and in bottles, and often times you’ll be able to catch a special beer event throughout the week. Their patio features large picnic tables, shuffleboard, a pool table, and TV’s so you can catch the baseball game while sipping a beer outside.

The Rio Grande – A water fountain, and a Mexican lager served with a lime. Do you not agree that that is what a hot summer night should include? Those two things put it up there on our list for sure!

Lucky Joe’s – Peanuts. A handful (or four) of this bottomless snack keeps you coming back for more. Order up a beer of your choice, sit back, and crack peanuts until your heart is content. You’ll enjoy the prime location for people watching as well.

Crown Pub – Front or back? Take your pick; they both have their advantages. Perfect for people watching, enjoy the hustle and bustle along the busy sidewalk out front. Or, sit on the back patio and enjoy getting away from everything.

Black Bottle Brewery – They recently brought in an L-shaped lounge sofa and wild pink flamingos to their perfectly shady patio, making it a great spot to snag a quick bite to eat and sip on their always-creative beers. All they ask is that you please don’t feed the flamingos.

Illegal Pete’s – Rooftop. Need we say more? Any beer you have while up on the rooftop patio tastes 100 times better. Even on cooler days earlier in the year their patio was a nice place to escape and look over the rest of Downtown Fort Collins. Sunsets can be quite a treat up there; we suggest you take a look for yourself.

Now get out there and find your perfect patio and beverage combination!

In case craft beer happens to escape your mind during any other week of the year, American Craft Beer Week is here to remind you to enjoy one of the thousands of craft beers created throughout the year.

Celebrated May 11th through May 17th of this year, American Craft Beer Week celebrates all the hard work and endless hours that American craft breweries and their staff put in each and every year. As the ever-growing popularity of craft beer continues to rise, the industry sees new breweries and brewpubs pop up all over in what seems like the blink of an eye. Many of these spots open up after months or years of planning, and days filled with sweat, heart, soul, and a good beer every now and then.

Show your support and visit your favorite brewery, brewpub, liquor store, restaurant, bar, or venue, and get yourself a special craft in your glass (or 6-pack). Branch out, try something new, be it brewery or style, you’ll never know if you like it if you don’t try it.

Breweries and places that serve up craft beers will be catering to craft beer lovers throughout the week, hosting events, special tapping’s, and beer dinners and pairings. Now is the time to check your favorite craft beer watering holes event calendars, you’ll find lots of great things available for you to try. Get out there and enjoy some rare creations!
