It’s time again for beer lovers, connoisseurs, and all those that create the tasty beers, to converge on Colorado for the Great American Beer Festival!

The yearly event will commence on October 2nd and run through October 4th.  Attracting thousands of people from all over, this event serves up the largest collection of U.S. beers and holds a private competition.  Breweries from near and far will take over the Colorado Convention Center, pouring their best craft creations during three different tasting sessions across the three-day period.

Featuring over 600 of America’s greatest breweries and over 2,800 different beers to try, GABF is a beer lovers dream come true.  You’ll get to enjoy the big names like Alaskan Brewing Co, Anchor Brewing, Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada and many more.  Plus, lots of great Colorado craft brewers will be showing up including AC Golden, Black Bottle, Blue Moon Brewing, Boulder Beer, New Belgium, Oskar Blues, and tons of your other favorite local brewers.

If you weren’t lucky enough to get a ticket to the tasting, don’t worry.  Breweries, beer bars, and liquor stores are all getting in the spirit too, hosting special tappings, releasing rare beers, and fun events.  Breweries from all over the nation will be in town representing their craft and will be looking to share their passion (or beer), so now is the time to get out and check the draft and bottle list as there will be a slew of options that won’t likely be back any time soon.

You can check our online calendar and Facebook pages for lots of great things to do all over Northern Colorado and the Western Slope throughout this amazing week!

On September 19th & 20th, join in on Fort Collins’s newest event that celebrates the closing of another beautiful Colorado summer with bikes, beer and a great music lineup.

The fun begins at 5pm this Friday in Old Town Square, where you can catch Sofie Reed, Better Than Bacon, and headliner, Young Ancients.  Saturday’s music lineup starts up at 11am and is packed full of more local acts playing an assortment of genres on two different stages.   Take in the likes of The Burroughs, Romeo Delight: A Live Tribute to Van Halen, Choice City Seven, and Soul School well in to the evening.

A Fort Collins celebration wouldn’t be complete without including the craft beer and biking worlds, two strong pieces of the surrounding community.  Breweries of all shapes and sizes coexist and flourish in this one of a kind environment, another great reason to celebrate.  Six of the local breweries will be serving up their tasty seasonals for all those of age to enjoy while listening to the musical talent and taking in the bike friendly culture.

We are also fortunate to be surrounded by nine bike manufacturers, 16 bike retailers and a biking culture like no other.  Take this opportunity to join others and ride the town, meet fellow bike enthusiasts, or just bask in the last of the warm weather while listening to some bluegrass.  And starting at 12pm Saturday catch one of the many bike stunt shows that will be taking place all afternoon.

So find your way to downtown Fort Collins this weekend for FORToberfest, as we say our farewell to the heat of summer and welcome in the changing leaves and cooler temperatures!
